Shine On at the 2025 Senior Job Expo in Tokyo!
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in collaboration with the Tokyo Labor Bureau, is organizing the 2025 Senior Job Expo, aimed at encouraging seniors to rethink their working future and take bold steps forward. Held in Shinjuku and Hachioji, this unique event promises a spectrum of programs including inspirational talks, employment support seminars, job consultation booths, health screenings, and a combined job interview fair. If you are eager to work or looking to step into the workforce, we invite you to participate!
Event Overview
Dates and Locations:
- - Shinjuku Venue: October 9th (Thursday), 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Registration starts at 10:15 AM)
Location: NS Event Hall (B1F, NS Building, 2-4-1 Nishi Shinjuku, Shinjuku Ward)
- - Hachioji Venue: October 21st (Tuesday), 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Registration starts at 10:15 AM)
Location: Tama Future Messe (1F Exhibition Room, 3-19-2 Myojin-cho, Hachioji City)
Engaging Seminars
The event will feature distinguished guests like Mr. Hideki Takahashi at the Shinjuku venue and Ms. Ikue Sakakibara at the Hachioji venue, sharing insights on the joy of aging and how to embrace life positively.
In addition to talks from these beloved figures, there will be various seminars led by experts in the field.
Event Booths
- - Job Support Organizations:
Booths from Haro Work, Tokyo Work Center, and Active Senior Job Support Center will provide job consultations and information. The Silver Human Resource Center will also showcase small goods for sale.
- - Health Screenings for Seniors:
Attendees can access tests for dynamic vision and walking posture, among other options and evaluations.
- - Employment Experience Corners:
Try your hand at customer service, cooking, and more with practical experience opportunities.
Senior Job Interview Fair
A job interview fair will be held featuring companies actively seeking senior candidates, with around
30 companies attending the Shinjuku venue and
16 companies at Hachioji. Participants wishing to attend the interviews are requested to bring their resumes and, if available, their Haro Work reception slips.
In addition to the interview fair, there will be a booth for individual consultations with Haro Work staff, ensuring attendees have a chance to gain personal insights.
Tokyo Second Career School Launch (Shinjuku Venue Only)
A special opening ceremony for the Tokyo Second Career School will provide seniors with enjoyable educational resources for their upcoming careers.
Tokyo Second Career School Open Seminar (Shinjuku Venue Only)
An open seminar featuring motivational speaker Toshihiko Seko will bolster support and encouragement for attendees.

Health Measurements
Special health assessment services will be available for seniors, with offerings at distinct venues:
- - Shinjuku: Dynamic vision tests, walking age checks, blood pressure readings, and functional movement age measurement.
- - Hachioji: Dynamic vision evaluation and walking age assessments will be available.
Novelty Gifts for Attendees
The first attendees engaged in seminars or survey completion will receive wooden novelties crafted from Tama district materials.
