Upcoming Creative Workshop for Youth: Dance and Arts at GEGE CAMP 2025
The Tokyo Arts Theater is excited to announce its upcoming initiative, GEGE CAMP 2025, a creative program specifically designed for the youth. This innovative project will leverage the theater's unique attributes to provide participants with authentic artistic experiences alongside professional artists from Japan and around the world.
From September 2025, we invite entries for participation in our three-day Creation Workshop titled
“Is This Dance? Is This Also Dance?” The workshop is open for application starting today! It is an excellent opportunity for anyone aged 15 to 19, including those with no prior experience in dance. Participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery where they will create small dance pieces guided by the renowned navigator, Shota Ide (of the Idebian Crew).
The three-day workshop, detailed below, aims to unlock individual movements from participants, leading to the development of their unique dance pieces. Shota Ide, who is multifaceted in his artistic pursuits including choreography for dance performances, theatrical productions, music videos, and TV commercials, will lead this enriching experience. Attendees will learn to express themselves through movement and creativity.

What is GEGE CAMP?
The GEGE CAMP is an initiative launched by the Tokyo Arts Theater in 2024, aimed at fostering creativity among the next generation. The program opens the theater and brings together artists, creators, and specialist staff who support the arts, creating a vibrant space for collaborative artistic endeavors. In the 2025 edition, we will offer two types of workshops: a three-day intensive program creating dance from scratch and a selection of thematic one-day workshops.
