Art-Hack and Bread & Espresso: A Unique Collaboration to Enrich Daily Spaces with Art

Art-Hack and Bread & Espresso: A New Artistic Initiative

The groundbreaking collaboration between Art-Hack and the bakery café Bread & Espresso has ushered in a fantastic new project that marries the worlds of contemporary art and everyday cafe culture. This initiative, dubbed "Bread & Espresso, Art & More," aims to create an environment where art seamlessly integrates into daily life, enhancing creativity and communication within workplaces and community spaces.

The Vision Behind the Project

ArtLeap, led by CEO Masahiko Nishida, has been making waves with its innovative art program, Art-Hack. This program is designed to elevate office environments by promoting the presence of art. Teaming up with Hito to Hito, the company behind Bread & Espresso, which operates 51 locations both domestically and internationally, they have launched a project focused on combining cafe experiences with contemporary art. The first installment kicks off on December 13, 2025, with the opening of the "Bread & Espresso Shibaura Gallery" located in Minato, Tokyo.

This new venue will not only serve fresh-baked bread and aromatic coffee but will also house contemporary artworks from upcoming artists, allowing visitors to admire and purchase these pieces in a cozy, everyday setting. The goal is to infuse daily spaces with art, offering a subtle richness that enhances the overall experience for guests.

A Unique Space

The first phase of the project involves rebranding the existing store at the Takanawa Gateway and transforming it into the "Bread & Espresso Shibaura Gallery." Here, the fusion of freshly baked goods and contemporary art invites patrons to explore the works of emerging artists in a welcoming atmosphere. The gallery will host focused exhibitions featuring individual artists, showcasing both solo and group exhibitions. Additionally, there will be events such as talk sessions, seminars, and an array of art merchandise available for purchase through a dedicated online platform.

The inaugural artist for this gallery space will be Nachara, a contemporary artist recognized for capturing the fading landscapes and memories of ever-changing urban environments. Further details about Nachara’s exhibition will be announced soon, promising an exciting start to the artistic offerings of the gallery.

Future Prospects

The "Bread & Espresso, Art & More" initiative has ambitious plans to expand its reach, integrating art into daily locations across various cities. Future endeavors will include bringing art into cafes, workplaces, and public spaces, further igniting a cycle of artistic expression and appreciation within everyday scenes.

Stay Updated on Instagram

To keep audiences informed and engaged, a dedicated Instagram account for the "Bread & Espresso, Art & More" project has been launched. It will regularly share updates about exhibitions at the Shibaura Gallery, introductions to featured artists, and insights into the broader art initiative.

Comments from the Project Leaders

Masahiko Nishida, CEO of ArtLeap, expressed his belief that art is not a luxury, but a vital element that should thrive within our working and living spaces. He looks forward to the exciting projects ahead, starting with the Shibaura Gallery.

Takumi Yamamoto, CEO of Hito to Hito, intends to cultivate a cultural hub at the "Bread & Espresso Shibaura Gallery," envisioning a space that echoes the charm of a freshly baked loaf while nurturing artistic innovation.
