GAC Triumphs at China-SAE Awards with Eight Honors, Showcasing Innovation

GAC's Remarkable Win at the China-SAE 2026 Awards

On October 28, 2026, GAC achieved a significant milestone by securing eight prestigious awards at the China-SAE Science and Technology Awards ceremony held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. This event highlighted GAC's extraordinary capabilities in technological innovation, particularly in areas such as automotive chips, electric propulsion, vehicle safety, intelligent driving governance, and vehicle design. Among the eight awards, GAC proudly received four first-place accolades, showcasing its leadership in the automotive industry.

GAC's Comprehensive Chip Development

In the realm of automotive chips, GAC's project has established a complete ecosystem that spans from vehicle definition to large-scale application. The company collaborated with a remarkable 105 partners to incorporate nearly 400 chip models and over 1,000 domestically produced chips. Notably, the HYPTEC GT Special Edition was launched as China's first SUV featuring 100% locally designed chips, affirming GAC's commitment to high-quality innovation.

Innovative Electric Propulsion Technology

GAC has also taken significant strides in electric propulsion, being the pioneer in the mass production of amorphous alloy stators and high-speed carbon fiber rotors. This achievement makes GAC the only company globally to produce automotive motors using amorphous alloys at scale. These innovative motors boast a thickness of just 0.025 mm and deliver a remarkable maximum efficiency of 99.03%. With a power density measuring 17.29 kW/kg at 1000 V, they are nearly three times more efficient than industry standards, alongside reaching maximum speeds of 30,000 RPM. The battery-saving technology contributes to a 4% reduction in energy consumption, while enhancing the driving range by 30 to 50 kilometers with the same battery capacity—an impressive feat for the automotive sector. GAC's precision manufacturing technology was awarded the gold medal at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, underscoring its excellence in this area.

Advancements in Vehicle Safety

GAC's collaboration with Tsinghua University resulted in the second-place award for its pioneering safety project. This initiative led to the establishment of China's first fully domestically developed ASIL-D safety controller, allowing for real-time risk quantification and active suspension to mitigate side impacts. The integrated model facilitating collaboration among automakers, road police, and hospitals has been applied to 20 different vehicle models, achieving a total sales figure of 1.446 million units.

In addition, GAC's contribution to safety governance from L2 to L4 has helped develop a comprehensive lifecycle management system covering pre-admission processes, ongoing oversight, and post-event traceability. Notably, the participated BIW project incorporates AI-driven body design systems capable of generating conceptual diagrams within five hours while achieving predictive rigidity accuracy above 95%. This innovative design efficiency has been applied to the next-generation GAC GS8, GAC ES9, and the brand-new GAC S7.

GAC's Commitment to Innovation

GAC continues to emphasize its innovation-focused development strategy as it advances groundbreaking technological breakthroughs and their commercialization. The company's commitment aims to support the high-quality growth of the Chinese automotive industry, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
