Exciting Music Release for 'Welcome to the Quiet Room: The Musical'

New Musical Soundtrack Release

The highly anticipated soundtracks for the theatrical production, 'Welcome to the Quiet Room: The Musical', are officially available starting May 24, 2026. This announcement comes as excitement builds for the show, which is set to be performed from January 12 to February 1, 2026, at THEATER MILANO-Za, part of the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower in Tokyo. Following its Tokyo premiere, the show will visit Rohm Theatre Kyoto and Okayama Art Creation Hall in February 2026.

Background on the Musical

Originally envisioned by Suzuki Matsu, known for his versatile artistic contributions as a writer, director, and actor, the story stems from his original novel 'Welcome to the Quiet Room'. This novel was previously adapted into a film in 2007, but now, after nearly two decades, it has evolved into a vibrant musical. Matsu’s unique blend of humor and fantasy, set against a backdrop of a psychiatric women’s ward, creatively unfolds themes of pain and rebirth, adding a dynamic entertainment layer to what could otherwise be a severe subject matter.

This transformation garnered Matsu the 51st Kikuta Kazuo Theatre Award for his exceptional writing and direction in the musical.

The music for the production is composed by Akira Miyagawa, who has a knack for creating unforgettable melodies that have been integral to many successful theatrical performances, including those staged at Bunkamura Theatre Cocoon. The music—comprising five selected tracks from the total of 17 songs in the musical—was recorded live during the Tokyo performances. This music release is part of a limited-time offering within Japan, available for one year through various streaming services, including Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify.

Featured Songs

  • - Trap, Slip, Drop: Opening with Asuka's (Miyu Saki) rap, this song immerses the audience instantly into the musical's world as the ensemble joins in.
  • - The World Without You: A powerful ballad sung by Tetsuo (Yuya Matsushita) as he expresses his anguish upon Asuka’s collapse.
  • - Welcome to the Quiet Room: The title track, where Mikki (Natsumi Kon) and others perform for Asuka as she enters the special protection room known as the Quiet Room.
  • - Nicotine Paradise: An entertaining ensemble piece featuring colorful patients and staff, capturing the vivacity at the end of the first act.
  • - Curtain Call: A celebratory final number that brings all cast members together to mark the musical’s conclusion.

Reflections by Creators
