SHARE LOUNGE Komazawa University Station: A New Community Space
On November 12, 2025, the SHARE LOUNGE at Komazawa University Station will open its doors as the fourth location in the Setagaya area, situated on the basement level of the
KOMAZAWA Park Quarter. This project is a collaborative effort between
Culture Convenience Club (CCC) and
Koura Oil, aiming to create a vibrant, multifunctional space to cater to the needs of the local community.
The Komazawa University area is a lively neighborhood with approximately 14,000 students attending the university, in addition to many families and working professionals. The nearby Komazawa Olympic Park is a beloved recreational spot that features sports facilities, a dog run, and event spaces, promoting a sense of community among local residents.
A Thoughtfully Designed Space
The SHARE LOUNGE at Komazawa University Station is designed with themes of “dappled sunlight” and “nature” in mind, creating a serene atmosphere for its visitors. Despite being located underground, the lounge boasts a calming ambiance through the use of layered wall finishes reminiscent of natural strata and botanical art that breathes life into the space. This design approach ensures that visitors can experience a connection to nature, making the underground setting feel open and inviting.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the SHARE LOUNGE offers various amenities aimed at fulfilling the needs of a diverse clientele. Students can find quiet areas to study, young professionals can access workspace options, and families can enjoy relaxation zones. A dedicated café space allows for casual reading and conversation, while private rooms are available for more focused time.
Connecting with the Community
Future plans for the SHARE LOUNGE involve collaboration with businesses in the adjacent event spaces. Engaging local creators and residents through events will promote connections within the community, establishing the lounge as a focal point for social exchange.
Themed Book Library
One of SHARE LOUNGE's notable features is its themed book library. Curated by former employees of local bookstores, this library highlights themes related to the region, such as local authors and the iconic
Hakone Ekiden marathon—a source of pride for Komazawa University, which consistently competes in this prestigious race.
Visitors can discover works by local writers and access a variety of genres, including design, art, and lifestyle magazines, fostering curiosity and exploration among patrons.
Versatile Spaces for Various Users
The spacious layout of the SHARE LOUNGE is tailored to accommodate different scenarios and demographics. With a total of
120 seats, the lounge features areas suitable for students, professionals, and families, offering options for both casual and private use.
