The company's cultural and entertainment division, Studio AD, is not only crafting wigs but also overseeing hair and makeup for this highly anticipated production.

Crafting the Perfect Look

The entertainment wigs provided by Adelance are meticulously designed to ensure both visual appeal and authenticity. Each wig takes into account the character's persona and role, promising a natural look that blends seamlessly into the narrative of Elisabeth. To enhance comfort, these custom-made wigs utilize materials that are not only stretchy but also breathable, preventing any discomfort for the cast members during performances.

For Elisabeth, the wigs will be worn by an impressive cast, including the leading performers playing the role of Elisabeth: Fumito Nozomi, Rio Asumi, as well as Yudai Furukawa, Yoshio Inoue (only for the Tokyo performances), and Ikusaburo Yamazaki (for performances in Hokkaido, Osaka, and Fukuoka). In total, 114 custom wigs have been produced, along with additional pieces such as hair extensions and mustaches.

The hair and makeup planning for Elisabeth is spearheaded by Katsuyuki Tomioka, who brings years of salon experience and artistic flair from his time at Adelance since 2003. His portfolio showcases a variety of successful stage productions, including notable works like Colette, A Tale of Two Cities, and Mozart!. Tomioka's expertise ensures that the hair and makeup not only align with the artistic vision but also enhance the overall storytelling of the musical.

The Story of Elisabeth

Elisabeth tells a poignant tale of love intertwined with fate and death. It explores the life of the last Empress of the Habsburg Empire, Elisabeth, known for her unparalleled beauty and desire for freedom. The plot thickens as she becomes the object of affection for Tod, the embodiment of death. From her youthful years, Tod pursues her love, which Elisabeth begins to acknowledge, leading to a forbidden love that carries harrowing implications. As the empire faces its demise, Elisabeth’s fateful day approaches.
