Business Leaders Discuss Human Rights Practices

On September 5, 2023, a significant event focused on 'Business and Human Rights' will be held at the International Culture Center in Roppongi, Tokyo. Organized jointly by the ILO's Japan Office and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the event is set to promote discussions on how companies can effectively safeguard human rights and workers' rights throughout their entire supply chains.

This hybrid event will begin at 2 PM JST, allowing participants to join either in person or through online streaming, making it accessible for everyone interested, and best of all, there’s no admission fee. After the main event, ILO staff will provide a consultation session to offer guidance on specific measures and case studies for implementing these practices.

Taking place during the 'Peace and Human Rights Week' as part of the Kansai World Expo programming, this event will feature prominent executives from both domestic and international firms. They will report on challenges, strategies, and the importance of upholding human rights and achieving decent work.
