2026 Life Time Miami Marathon Sets Record Again With Early Sellout, Waitlist Now Available

The Iconic Life Time Miami Marathon Sells Out Again

The Life Time Miami Marathon & Half, presented by FP Movement, is here to set records once more. With the event scheduled for January 25, 2026, registration closed on August 15, 2025, after selling out in record time—two weeks earlier than last year’s impressive timeline. This remarkable surge showcases the unwavering enthusiasm of runners and the Miami community alike.

This year, 18,500 runners signed up for this prestigious marathon and half marathon. Following the sellout, a waitlist has opened, allowing hopeful participants until September 14 to reserve a chance to join. Spots will be allocated only if current registrants defer or drop out, and notifications about waitlist availability will start on September 22.

As the only marathon in the U.S. that qualifies for the Boston Marathon, this event remains a highly anticipated date on the racing calendar. Runners from all 50 states and over 70 countries will tackle this USTAF-certified course, which presents scenic views of Miami's stunning skyline and waterways.

Exciting Weekend Events

The Miami Marathon weekend promises more than just the main races; it begins with the Life Time Tropical 5K on January 24, 2026. This fun and energetic race kicks off the activities with a scenic route starting at Watson Island and concluding at the southern tip of South Beach, making it a thrilling warm-up for marathon participants.

To help athletes prepare, complimentary training programs will be available via the Life Time Digital app. The app has a unique feature called L•AI•C, which offers AI-powered assistance in creating personalized training plans that cater to individual goals.

Participants in the main marathon and half marathon events can expect not only a robust competitive environment but also an engaging expo. The Miami Famous Expo, featuring vendors, live entertainment, and wellness activities, will take place at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center from January 23 to January 24, 2026.

Community Impact and Involvement

Involving the local community is a crucial aspect of the marathon's vision. The Kids Run Miami program aims to inspire over 1,000 students from Miami area schools, guiding them through a 15-week training period to run a total of 25 miles, culminating with the final 1.2 miles on race day. This initiative reflects the marathon's commitment to fostering healthy lifestyles at a young age.

Additionally, the marathon partners with over 100 charities, contributing significantly to local fundraising each year. The 2025 event alone generated an impressive $16.1 million in local economic growth, and this year, a Miami Famous Travel Package has been introduced to encourage and support out-of-state travelers.

Frankie Ruiz, the co-founder of the Miami Marathon and Chief Running Officer at Life Time, expressed gratitude for the ongoing commitment from the running community to this iconic marathon. “The overwhelming enthusiasm and support continue to affirm the Miami Marathon's place as a staple event in the running world,” said Ruiz.

Runners and enthusiasts are encouraged to follow updates and engage with the event on social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. For those seeking to get in on the action, visit www.themiamimarathon.com to stay updated on waitlist information and 5K registration.

As the 2026 race date approaches, the excitement builds for both local and international participants. The Life Time Miami Marathon & Half is more than just a race; it is a community gathering that celebrates health, wellness, and the vibrant culture of Miami.
