Vantage Foundation Spreads Joy and Hope to SOS Children's Villages in the Philippines

Vantage Foundation Brings Joy and Hope

On February 19, 2025, the Vantage Foundation organized an uplifting event in the SOS Children's Villages located in the Philippines. Volunteers participated in activities designed to bring joy to the children residing there, while also engaging in meaningful exchanges. The day began with an introduction where all volunteers were informed about the program structure and the planned activities.

Upon entering the village, the volunteers were greeted with warm smiles and enthusiastic waves from the children. This set the tone for a day filled with happiness, learning, and significant interactions.

As part of their community support initiative, the Vantage Foundation also made a financial contribution, aiding eight homes that shelter groups of 8 to 10 children, cared for by dedicated guardians. Additionally, volunteers distributed notebooks and Vantage-branded pens to encourage the children's education and creativity.

The activities were designed to cater to diverse age groups among the children. For the youngest participants, aged 3 to 7, the Show and Tell sessions provided an avenue for self-expression through drawing. Older children, aged 8 to 12, engaged in a Build-A-Village Challenge which fostered teamwork and imagination. Meanwhile, teenagers aged 13 to 19 participated in workshops to identify community issues and brainstorm innovative solutions, thus emphasizing not only play but also collaboration and expression in a safe environment.

Following the activities, volunteers and children shared a meal together, recounting stories and strengthening their bonds over warm food. Each child received a gift to take home as a keepsake from the day. In a closing speech, Alex, the national manager for SOS Children's Villages, expressed deep gratitude for the support from the Vantage Foundation, emphasizing the importance of equipping these children with necessary tools and experiences to realize their dreams and break the cycle of poverty.

Ivy Evangelista, the philanthropy and partnership manager for SOS Children's Villages in the Philippines, echoed this sentiment during the debriefing. She expressed appreciation not only for the financial contribution that would significantly benefit the children's needs but also for the time and love shared during the visit. The joy evident in the children's eyes and voices was described as irreplaceable, highlighting how the volunteers' presence made the children feel valued and loved.

This heartwarming experience underscored Vantage Foundation's commitment to making a positive impact globally. It highlighted that success is not merely measured by the gifts provided but by the genuine connections fostered between volunteers and children.
