In September 2025, JWU signed a university-level agreement with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Lithuania for student exchange, marking a significant step in fostering international cooperation and academic exchanges. About Ambassador Aurelius Zikys
Dr. Aurelius Zikys was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, in 1978. He holds a bachelor's degree in Art History, a master’s in Communication, and a doctorate in Political Science from Vytautas Magnus University. He has held several academic positions, including Director of the Asia Research Center and Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy. He completed internships with the Japan Foundation and has worked significantly to promote public diplomacy. His dedication to fostering deeper ties between Lithuania and Japan has been evident throughout his career.
