Keyboard Market Tokyo 2026: A Unique Event for Keyboard Enthusiasts
The Keyboard Market Tokyo, popularly known as KeyKet, is back for its third edition! Set to take place on
March 28, 2026, at the
Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center, this event promises to be an exciting gathering for those passionate about custom keyboards and input devices. Organizers, along with Yushakobo Co., Ltd., aim to showcase a wide array of DIY keyboards and related accessories, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts.
What is a Custom Keyboard?
In recent years, the custom keyboard community has gained significant traction. Many users opt to create their own keyboards rather than relying solely on mass-produced options. Some might use the keyboards that come with personal computers, while others might prefer to purchase pre-made selections. However, for those who demand more from their typing experience, delving into the world of custom keyboards has become a popular choice.
Since around
2018, Japan has seen an active community dedicated to crafting these personalized devices, and their enthusiasm continues to grow. In fact, last year’s KeyKet event attracted around
2,000 attendees and reflected a vibrant culture surrounding custom keyboards.
Highlights from the Previous Edition
The distinguishing features of custom keyboards include a variety of designs, layouts, and tactile feedback, setting them apart from standard offerings. Moreover, a plethora of keyboard-related accessories will be up for sale, giving visitors the opportunity to see and test products in person. KeyKet invites you to explore various keyboards, engage with designers, and learn more about the intricacies of keyboard creation.
What to Expect at Keyboard Market Tokyo
The Keyboard Market Tokyo, also known as KeyKet, centers around the sale of custom keyboards and other input devices. This event allows creators to showcase and sell their DIY creations. Expect to find everything from keyboard kits, keycaps, cables, to desk mats at the show. Additionally, established companies will exhibit and sell commercially available keyboards and accessories.
The variety of exhibitors will include hobbyists who create keyboards as a passion, up-and-coming manufacturers, businesses offering desk-related products, and even well-known larger companies. Since the experience of a keyboard truly comes to life when you physically interact with it, KeyKet is designed to be a platform where enthusiasts can see, touch, and hear the numerous offerings. You'll have the chance to purchase coveted keycaps you've admired or to try out intriguing split keyboards right at the event! Plus, this year, attendees will be able to hear directly from designers and creators about the inspirations behind their works, making it an invaluable experience.
For the
third edition of KeyKet in
2026, we expect an increase in the number of participating circles and companies, enhancing opportunities for more individuals to connect and immerse themselves in keyboard culture.
