In an innovative initiative aimed at empowering the next generation, Osoji Revolution, a comprehensive cleaning brand based in Tokyo, held a unique job training program for middle and high school students on August 19 and 20, 2026. Organised in collaboration with Tokyo's "Kodomo Smile Movement", this program welcomed 10 selected students to its training facility, KIREI LABO, for two immersive days of professional learning.
During this part-time internship, students learned valuable skills and concepts related to the cleaning industry. Each day, they participated in three-hour sessions where they engaged in practical cleaning techniques and customer service experiences. The program encouraged students to think critically by allowing them to choose topics of interest, forming two groups of five for engaging discussions.
Experiencing Professional Skills and Customer Service
The first day was dedicated to the theme "Work is about solving people's problems". Students began by learning about the cleaning sector and Osoji Revolution's operations. The highlight included hands-on demonstrations of air conditioner cleaning, pressure washing, and professional window cleaning using a squeegee—activities unavailable elsewhere. Furthermore, they participated in customer service role-play scenarios, where they practiced greeting clients, explaining job tasks, and confirming customer needs. This aspect taught them that delivering not just cleaning services, but also ensuring customer "trust" is a crucial element of being a professional.
Collaborative Idea Development
On the second day, participants engaged in a dynamic two-hour group discussion based on their experiences from the first day. Students selected themes for discussion including "What cleaning services would be great to have?" and "How can we promote cleaning as a cool profession?" Each team was assisted by a recent graduate from Osoji Revolution who facilitated the discussions, helping to bring out the students' thoughts and ideas.
Both teams generated numerous ideas, showcasing the unique perspectives of youths. Remarkably, one group proposed over 50 distinct concepts, from which they reached a consensus on a single proposal through collaborative discussions. Participants presented their final suggestions to the Osoji Revolution staff, including members from the marketing department, who provided feedback not just on the creativity of the ideas, but on how feasible they would be in a real-world context. This interaction allowed students to connect their ideas to actual employment considerations.
Moreover, interaction with young employees fostered discussions that helped students view work not as a distant future obligation, but as a relatable and intriguing prospect just around the corner. They were able to practice articulating their opinions, listen to peers, and consolidate thoughts, thus engaging in essential processes involved in professional environments, namely considering, communicating, and deciding.
Promoting Value through Cleaning
Through this experience, Osoji Revolution hoped to convey that the profession of cleaning goes beyond mere tasks; it encompasses solving issues and supporting society. By allowing students to engage with professionals hands-on, think creatively, discuss ideas with peers, and receive constructive feedback from experienced workers, the company aims to cultivate a meaningful bridge between the students and their future career choices.
Looking ahead, Osoji Revolution remains dedicated to nurturing educational support, talent development, and collaborative community initiatives that will ultimately contribute to shaping future careers for young individuals.
