Costa Rica Aims for Global Operations Expansion at SSOW 2026 with Over 350 Service Companies
Costa Rica Aims for Global Operations Expansion at SSOW 2026
Costa Rica recently made a significant push towards attracting new global business operations during the Shared Services Outsourcing Week (SSOW) 2026 held in Orlando, Florida from March 17 to 19. The Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica, known as PROCOMER, took this opportunity to promote the country’s extensive service ecosystem, which now boasts over 350 established service companies.
With PROCOMER’s strategic agenda of meetings and networking, they engaged industry executives from various sectors, discussing ongoing trends in finance, human resources, logistics, and software development. This initiative aimed not only to showcase Costa Rica as a viable destination for global service delivery but also to understand the needs of companies considering relocation or expansion.
Mónica Umaña, the Foreign Direct Investment Attraction Manager at PROCOMER, highlighted the impressive growth within the sector, which generates over 115,000 formal jobs and manages both regional and global functions from the nation. She remarked, "Costa Rica has built a robust ecosystem for global service delivery. Our commitment to political and economic stability, alongside access to a skilled workforce, makes us a competitive choice for high-value operations."
During the SSOW, PROCOMER presented a compelling case for establishing shared services centers in Costa Rica. The agency emphasized key advantages such as a stable environment for businesses, the availability of trained talent, and a dynamic market that supports global operations.
The event also facilitated encounters with companies deliberating on potential expansions to ascertain their operational requirements. These discussions were crucial for paving the way towards establishing or enhancing their presence within Costa Rica.
Following the SSOW, PROCOMER extended its efforts with a targeted investment outreach mission in Tampa, where they engaged both existing clients operating in Costa Rica and local economic development organizations. The goal was to explore further opportunities for these companies to reinvest in Costa Rica and upgrade their operations.
Overall, the participation at SSOW and the outreach mission to Tampa not only strengthened PROCOMER's relationships with corporate service centers across the United States but also ingrained Costa Rica's position as a key player. With a well-established reputation, the country continues to provide a remarkable hub for businesses aiming to serve markets across the Americas.
