Varsity Brands' BSN Sports Partners with League One Volleyball for Pro League Launch

In a significant development for volleyball in the United States, Varsity Brands, through its BSN Sports division, has announced an official partnership with League One Volleyball (LOVB). This collaboration, which kicks off with the 2024-25 season, will see BSN Sports serving as the primary provider of athletic uniforms, apparel, footwear, and equipment for LOVB's extensive network of over 1,400 Club teams and its professional league, set to debut in November 2024.

The alliance between BSN Sports and LOVB marks a pivotal moment for the sport, combining expertise in sports equipment and team logistics with the ambition of LOVB to elevate volleyball's profile across the nation. LOVB aims to create a seamless ecosystem that connects junior clubs with professional teams, fostering a supportive environment for aspiring volleyball players.

Adam Blumenfeld, CEO of Varsity Brands, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that it aligns with their commitment to offering comprehensive solutions to enhance sports experiences. He highlighted the strategic implications of this collaboration in fortifying the infrastructure of youth volleyball and professional leagues alike.

As interest in volleyball among youth in the U.S. has surged, this partnership seeks to capitalize on that momentum. Terry Babilla, President of BSN Sports, noted, 'With the growing youth participation in volleyball, LOVB Pro is aiming to reintegrate America’s top players into the U.S. system, strengthening the sport from grassroots to pro.' BSN Sports is well-positioned to support this endeavor, leveraging their relationships with major brands such as adidas.

Starting from the 2025-2026 season, BSN Sports will exclusively supply club kits for LOVB Club athletes, ensuring they have the necessary gear for competition across 60 club locations nationwide. The partnership also entails the selection and distribution of limited-edition products designed specifically for LOVB athletes. Furthermore, each club will receive complimentary facility branding products, boosting the visibility of volleyball at a community level.

To manage this initiative, BSN Sports has dedicated a specialized sales team, bolstered by its network of over 1,300 sales professionals and category managers. This team is committed to enhancing the experience of both athletes and coaches by facilitating access to high-quality gear and apparel. Clubs will also benefit from the My Team Shop platform, a customizable e-commerce experience that allows players, families, and fans to access exclusive products and additional gear.

Katlyn Gao, CEO of LOVB, expressed excitement over joining forces with BSN Sports, emphasizing their shared vision for growing volleyball by bridging the gap between youth and professional levels. This partnership is seen as a major step towards enriching the volleyball community and creating a unified force in the sport.

In addition to equipment and apparel services, the alliance will also involve collaborative efforts on content for BSN Sports' SURGE initiative, aimed at empowering young female athletes. The program focuses on promoting self-esteem, resilience, and mental health among girls engaged in sports, illustrating a commitment to fostering a diverse and supportive sports environment.

With both organizations sharing a vision to uplift volleyball through innovation and community involvement, this partnership signifies an exciting chapter for the sport as it heads towards its pro league debut. By supporting athletes from grassroots to professional tiers, BSN Sports and LOVB are poised to redefine the future of volleyball in America, making it more accessible and competitive than ever before.
