48th Shibuya Ward Community Plaza Hometown Festival 2025
The Shibuya Ward, under the leadership of Mayor Ken Hasebe, is excited to announce the upcoming
48th Community Plaza Hometown Festival. This year, the festival will take place on
November 1 (Saturday) and November 2 (Sunday) at
Yoyogi Park, marking a wonderful occasion for both residents and visitors to celebrate the vibrant culture of Shibuya.
First launched in
1978, this event aims to reinforce the community's inclusive nature and enhance connections with various local groups and international cities. The central theme for this year's festival is
“Welcome to Shibuya! Experience the Essence of Shibuya.” Expect an exciting lineup of programs and activities designed to refresh the image of the
“New Plaza,” showcasing Shibuya's charm to the world.

Main Programs
Stage Performances
A variety of local organizations will showcase their talents, featuring choral performances, instrumental music, and dance showcases. For the first time, a joint concert featuring students from local middle schools is scheduled, promising an enriching experience for attendees.
Tents and Exhibitions
Around
130 organizations will participate, including local groups, embassies, and other municipalities. They will offer informational displays, consultations, and sales of local specialties.
Parade (November 1 Only)
On the first day, a parade will highlight youth groups, particularly local elementary school students performing music as they march around Yoyogi Park, creating a lively atmosphere.
Public Relations Corner
A special booth will introduce visitors to the latest initiatives undertaken by Shibuya Ward, providing insights into community development and engagement practices.
Sports Experience Activities
Thanks to collaborations with professional sports teams, there will be sports clinics and activities hosted at the sports courts, giving everyone the opportunity to get active and engage with sports.

- - Stamp Rally: Visitors can collect stamps from tents and enter a raffle to win goods and saplings from countries friendly with Shibuya.
- - Animal Interaction Area: Expect an adorable experience with interactions featuring Akita dogs (only on November 1) and ponies (only on November 2). Pony lovers can enjoy brushing activities and limited-time pony rides.
- - Free Apple Distribution (November 2 Only): Visitors can receive delicious apples shared by Iida City in Nagano Prefecture, fostering local partnerships.
- - Ice Sculpture Demonstration (November 2 Only): Witness live ice sculpting as artists create animals and characters right before your eyes.
