Philippine Festival 2025: Experience the Wonders of Filipino Culture in Tokyo

Discover the Philippine Festival 2025 in Tokyo

The Philippine Festival 2025, one of the largest events celebrating Filipino culture, is set to take place on November 29-30, 2025, at Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo. Organized by the Department of Tourism of the Philippines (DOT), the festival aims to present the 'LOVE THE PHILIPPINES' branding campaign, which emphasizes the rich natural beauty, traditional culture, delectable cuisine, and the warmth of the Filipino people.

This year's festival promises to be an immersive experience for attendees. The DOT will set up a vibrant booth at the event, focusing on promoting the diverse attractions of the Philippines through unique experiences that encapsulate the essence of Filipino culture. Enhancing this year's promotional efforts, the Clark International Airport is launching direct flights from Narita, along with their representative from Angeles City participating in the Philippine booth to showcase the myriad of tourist spots, culture, and leisure activities in Central Luzon.

A Tropical Christmas Village Experience

In celebration of the holiday season in the Philippines, the venue will be adorned with traditional decorations such as 'parols' (star-shaped lanterns) and garlands, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a tropical Christmas village. The booth's design will reflect the visual identity of the 'LOVE THE PHILIPPINES' campaign, with festive colors and interactive photo spots that invite festival-goers to take pictures and share their experiences.

Free Cultural Experience Programs

A highlight of this year's festival is the array of free cultural activities designed to promote an understanding of Filipino traditions through immersive experiences. Some of the activities include:

  • - Hilot: A traditional Filipino massage offered in a relaxing resort-like environment, accompanied by a tourist information package post-treatment.
  • - Sungka Experience: A popular traditional board game where participants engage in an intellectual contest by moving shells and stones—a game enjoyable for all ages. This activity rewards participants with stamps.
  • - Passport Rally: Attendees can collect stamps from four activity booths to receive a traditional Filipino snack, 'bibingka,' and a refreshing cup of Philippine coffee.
  • - Palabunutan: A traditional lottery game that gives participants a chance to win Filipino candies and local ingredients from the vibrant culinary culture.

Enriching Stage Programs

The main stage will host numerous performances that align with the 'LOVE THE PHILIPPINES' theme. On November 29, visitors can look forward to performances titled 'Love the Philippines: Maligayang PasGow' at 13:15 and 17:00. The following day, November 30, will feature the 'Love the Philippines Quiz with Bonnie' at 10:50 and 16:00.

Tourism Information Corner

Additionally, the festival will include a tourism information area, providing attendees with the latest travel guides and information about various regions of the Philippines. Visitors planning a trip or simply wanting to learn more about this beautiful country can explore popular islands, major tourist spots, seasonal activities, and the cultural, natural, and culinary highlights that the Philippines has to offer.

A Message from the Department of Tourism

The Department of Tourism expressed excitement about participating in the Philippine Festival in Tokyo once again, emphasizing that 'LOVE THE PHILIPPINES' is a brand campaign designed to allow people to appreciate the diverse attractions of the Philippines—its stunning nature, rich cultural heritage, and the genuine warmth of its people—through unique experiences. This year's theme, 'Tropical Christmas Village,' aims to present the holiday culture of the Philippines, giving attendees a taste of the festive spirit through parol lights, traditional games, and hilot experiences. The department looks forward to providing a memorable opportunity for visitors to connect with the charm of the Philippines and feel inspired to visit the country.
