Hobonichi, a Tokyo-based company, is set to host an engaging special talk event as part of the "Life's Fun Exhibition." This event showcases its video content service, "Hobonichi School," providing a unique platform where attendees can hear candid and heartfelt stories from exceptional individuals.

Over three days from June 5 to June 7, 2026, notable guests will join the renowned writer and CEO, Shigeru Itoi, for in-depth discussions. The event revolves around the theme of "Turning Points," exploring significant changes in each speaker's life, the transformations of the present era, and contemplating future possibilities. However, attendees can expect plenty of interesting digressions that may stray from the original theme.

Masato Sakai (Actor)


Born in 1973 in Miyazaki, Masato Sakai began his acting career in 1992 with the Tokyo Orange Theater Company. He has since made a name for himself in television, film, and stage productions. This July, he will star in the Sunday drama "VIVANT," which is set to air for two consecutive seasons.

Jun Miura (Illustrator, Writer)


Born in 1958 in Kyoto, Jun Miura began his career as a manga artist while attending Musashino Art University. He later expanded his work to include writing and music, becoming a multifaceted creative talent. His phrase "My Boom" earned a spot in the top ten of the New Word and Buzzword Awards in 1997. Notably, he is also credited with coining the term “Yuru-Chara.” He received the Numata Encouragement Award from the Buddhist Cultural Prize in 2018. His published works include My Buddhism, How to Create a 'Non-job', and Recommendations for Aging Adequately.

Jin Katagiri (Actor, Sculptor)


Also born in 1973, in Saitama, Jin Katagiri formed a comedy group called "Ramens" during his time at Tama Art University with Kenta Kobayashi. For over 17 years, he's organized a clay art exhibition called the "Giri Exhibition," showcasing his works around the country.

Shigeru Itoi (Chairman of Hobonichi)


Shigeru Itoi debuted as a copywriter in 1971 and has since evolved into an influential figure in writing, game design, and essays. He founded the web platform "Hobonichi Daily Itoi News" in June 1998 and has led the company in its diverse ventures. Under his leadership, Hobonichi has produced lifestyle products including the famed "Hobonichi Techo" and organized events like the "Hobonichi School" and the "Life's Fun Exhibition."
