Oisix Celebrates the Yasai-1 Grand Prix 2026 Champion
On August 31, 2023, the Oisix company, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, proudly sponsored the Yasai-1 Grand Prix 2026, an event for finding the top vegetable-themed comedians. Promoting their love for innovative cooking with fresh ingredients, Oisix provided prizes for the winner and catering for the event.
The Yasai-1 Grand Prix is famous for its unique concept of making vegetables entertaining, spearheaded by comedian Yoshio Kojima. The event, which began in 2024, features amateur and professional comedians alike competing to find the comedic champion who can best express the joy of vegetables. This year's competition took place at Nakano's NAKANO ZERO Small Hall and showcased nine finalists who passed through rigorous preliminary rounds.
Sebastian, the ultimate champion of this year, received an assortment of seasonal vegetables, fruits, meal kits, and vegetable juices from Oisix, designed to celebrate his achievement and inspire his journey to becoming a beloved figure in the comedy scene. The award, which included both a cash prize of 831,000 yen and vegetable-themed gifts, served to further invigorate the enthusiasm in the hall as the audience witnessed the vibrant performances.
Oisix provided not only prizes for the champions but also catering for the participants and judges, including Kojima himself, who thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable snacks before the shows.
In a further show of support, Oisix gifted the winner with popular items like their signature Star Okra and the Sirloin Eggplant, which has a rich, tender texture perfect for quick dishes. In addition to these unique vegetables, winners received the expedited cooking meals featuring the 'Chō-Raku Kit', enabling them to whip up delicious meals in under 10 minutes—ideal for busy lives ahead after achieving fame.
This event underscores Oisix’s commitment to adding smiles through vegetables and encouraging healthy, diverse eating habits. With a grand vision of making access to fresh produce easy and enjoyable, Oisix continues to deliver a wide array of vegetables to households, believing it is essential to foster a culture where nutritious food is both appreciated and celebrated.
