Vue Expands Cinematic Experience with Major Partnership with Barco for Laser Technology
Vue Partners with Barco to Transform Cinematic Experience
Vue, the largest privately-owned cinema chain in Europe and the top exhibitor in the UK, has recently announced a significant collaboration with Barco, a globally recognized leader in cinema technology. The deal aims to introduce cutting-edge laser projection systems across Vue's theaters in Europe, marking a new era in cinematic experiences for moviegoers.
A New Chapter in Visual Entertainment
The agreement indicates that more than 1,000 Barco Series 4 laser projectors will be installed throughout Vue's cinemas by 2029. The rollout will kick off in the UK, Denmark, and Germany, bringing with it a promise of unparalleled image quality and brightness. Vue’s cinema in Southport, England, serves as the pioneering location for this installation, followed by Vue Westfield Shepherd's Bush, one of the chain's flagship theaters in London.
The Barco Series 4 projectors are touted for their industry-leading brightness, superior contrast, and vibrant color output, which together create a breathtaking visual experience. Unlike traditional projectors that require frequent Xenon lamp replacements, the new laser technology ensures lower maintenance demands, prolonging performance and efficiency.
Tim Richards CBE, CEO and founder of Vue, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to partner with Barco to deliver more than 1000 incredible laser projectors across eight countries. Barco's state-of-the-art laser technology complements our investments in Lux and Ultra Lux recliner seats, enhancing the overall experience we offer our customers."
This partnership highlights Vue's commitment to elevating the cinema experience by investing in advanced technologies that meet the evolving preferences of movie enthusiasts.
