This partnership aims to create the world's largest ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR), enabling the reuse of a substantial volume of municipal wastewater specifically for cooling the operations of xAI's advanced AI supercomputer data center in Memphis, Tennessee.

The MBR will facilitate the recycling of an impressive 49.2 million liters per day (13 million gallons daily) of treated wastewater. This ambitious endeavor not only illustrates the growing demand for innovative water treatment solutions in mission-critical environments, but it also represents a significant step towards water sustainability in the tech industry.

With the capacity to treat more wastewater than xAI will require, the facility will also provide excess treated water to local industries.
