In an exciting collaboration, Nikon Imaging Japan has partnered with the Canada Tourism Commission and Nikkei National Geographic to celebrate the release of "Exploring Canada’s Majestic Nature with Junji Takasago: Activity Guide to Canada’s National Parks." This guide presents a remarkable journey through Canada’s breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, and unforgettable nature experiences. To mark this occasion, a special photographic exhibition featuring the works of renowned photographer Junji Takasago will be showcased, alongside informative talk events in Nikon Plaza Tokyo and Osaka.

Photographic Exhibition Details


The exhibition will present a captivating collection of Takasago's photography, capturing the stunning sceneries and wild animals found across Canada. Visitors will not only have a chance to view these exquisite works but also hear firsthand accounts from Takasago about his adventures and experiences during the shoots. This immersive exhibition aims to inspire attendees by showcasing the grandeur of Canada’s natural landscapes.

The guidebook that accompanies the exhibition highlights the extraordinary and unique scenery, wildlife, and experiences available only in Canada. Additionally, it emphasizes the significance of selected national parks, conservation efforts, and indigenous tourism initiatives, offering practical activities for travelers to fully enjoy the beauty of Canada. The publication also features a dialogue between Takasago and Nikon’s lens designer, providing insights on photographic techniques, equipment usage, and a look into the nuances of photographic expression, making it a must-read for photography enthusiasts.

In addition to the photographic exhibition, engaging talk events will be held, offering attendees a deeper understanding of the stories behind the photos and the inspiration found in nature.

- Date: May 30, 2026 (Saturday) from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Doors open at 1:15 PM)

- Capacity: 30 attendees (Seating available on a first-come, first-served basis, free of charge)

Please note that if seating is fully booked, standing room may be available. Additionally, entry may be limited due to high attendance.

About Junji Takasago


Junji Takasago, born in 1962 in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, is a prominent nature photographer who has explored various countries across the globe, from tropical regions to polar landscapes. His photography chronicles the intricate connections in nature, examining themes such as the cycle of water and life, and the relationship between humans and the environment. Takasago has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious top award in the “Natural Artistic Merit” category at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2022. With over 30 published books, he extensively shares his passion for nature through various media, emphasizing its importance and humanity’s role on Earth. He also serves as a board member of the Oceanic Wildlife Society (OWS), advocating for oceanic conservation.

Nikkei National Geographic has been sharing “the current state of the Earth” since launching the Japanese edition of National Geographic magazine in April 1995, marking its entry into the non-English speaking world. Currently, in addition to the magazine, they disseminate information through books, mooks, websites, and social media platforms. They also published Takasago's photo book, "Planet of Water."
