Celebrating Technical Excellence at Okayama University

On March 10, 2025, Okayama University, based in Okayama City, participated in the 2025 TC College certification ceremony held at the Tokyo Institute of Technology's Ookayama Campus in Meguro Ward. This event marked a significant milestone as the university's Integrated Technical Department proudly inaugurated the Medical Engineering Technical Course with its first-ever Technical Master (TM) designations for two of its staff.

A New Era in Medical Engineering Education

The Technical Master recognitions were awarded to Masahiro Narasaki, a technical specialist, and Moemi Tsukano, a technical supervisor, both of whom expressed their gratitude for the honor and acknowledged the hard work that led to their achievement. This event was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing a wide array of participants to witness the proceedings.

The certification was part of a broader initiative focusing on enhancing the skills and capabilities of technical personnel at the university. During the ceremony, 21 individuals were honored with TM certification, reinforcing the commitment of Okayama University to professional development and advanced training within the scientific community.

Outstanding Contributions Recognized

In addition to the TM certifications, the ceremony included the presentation of awards from last year’s technical and research support presentation session. Yurie Nakamura, a technical specialist in the management TC course, was recognized with the TC College Director's Award for her presentation titled "Promoting the Charm of Engineering through Management."

Expressing her motivation, Nakamura stated, "Participating in TC College allowed for invaluable exchanges of ideas with many stakeholders. I am determined to further deepen my learning in this field."

Commitment to Excellence

Vice President Masanori Sato emphasized the university's commitment to fostering highly skilled personnel through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s J-PEAKS program. This initiative aims to advance human resources capabilities and ensure that technical staff can think critically and act decisively in their respective fields.

Sato also acknowledged the collaborative efforts from various stakeholders involved in making the TC Course a success. He believes that creating an environment where staff can enhance their capabilities is key to invigorating the organization and the university as a whole.
