Rescheduled eSports GOMI Event in Okayama Set for September 27th Amid Typhoon Concerns

Rescheduled eSports GOMI Event in Okayama

In response to the approaching typhoon, the event "eSports GOMI in Okayama – Momostart" has been postponed from its original date. The new date for this much-anticipated event is now confirmed for September 27, 2026. The organization behind this community-focused event, Life Reversal Gaming, aims to promote local revitalization initiatives in Okayama Prefecture.

This event is spearheaded by Hitomee Co., an entity dedicated to supporting local employment and revitalization projects. The new schedule maintains the original venue, timeline, and concept of the event, ensuring that participants can still look forward to the exciting activities planned.

What is eSports GOMI?

"eSports GOMI" is a unique environmental conservation initiative that amalgamates competitive eSports gaming with a competitive trash-collecting activity known as Sport GOMI. The inaugural eSports GOMI in Okayama held earlier in May 2026 witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm, leading to requests from local businesses for a second edition. In response to this interest and with support from enthusiastic partners like Momostart, the event's organization committee has embraced the opportunity to host this second installment.

As a member of the organizing committee, Life Reversal Gaming is committed to creating new avenues for communication through the joy of eSports, fostering an environment for all age groups—children and adults alike—to collaborate on envisioning a sustainable future for their communities. Looking ahead, there are plans to conduct this event regularly in Okayama, expanding its reach and impact.

How the Event Works

"eSports GOMI" aims to raise awareness of global ocean pollution issues through an engaging format. Participants form teams of three and compete by collecting trash within a specified area during a limited time frame. Points are awarded based on the quantity and type of trash collected, and the team with the highest score wins. The event ensures a community-centric framework where teamwork, a sense of achievement, and the joy of sports intertwine, making it accessible and enjoyable for people from all walks of life.
