Encouraging Future Talents for Japan’s Construction Sector: National and Private Sector Collaboration

Promoting Careers in the Construction Sector to Students

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism aims to inspire students about the attractive opportunities available within the construction sector, particularly in surveying, construction consulting, and geological surveys. On June 5, a collaborative effort between the government and private entities will be showcased at Nihon University’s College of Science and Technology.

This initiative is part of the 'Construction Industry Image Improvement Promotion Council,' which was established in June 2012 by industry associations related to surveying, construction consulting, and geological surveys, along with the Ministry’s Construction Market Development Division. The council has been active in enhancing the social recognition of the construction industry and addressing the critical challenge of securing the future workforce.

Construction-related roles play a vital part in ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness in projects. They are foundational to the management of societal infrastructure from conception to maintenance, making the expertise in these domains incredibly significant. This explanatory session is designed to introduce the various facets of construction-related careers to students, emphasizing the impactful nature of the work and the rewarding career paths it offers.
