Mazda and DonorsChoose Join Forces for STEM Education Initiative This Holiday
Mazda North American Operations is stepping up once again this holiday season to help shape the future of education with a remarkable initiative in partnership with DonorsChoose, a respected organization that supports teachers and students. This year, with a total commitment of
$250,000, Mazda aims to amplify the impact of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) projects across various schools in the United States, allowing educators and students to discover and nurture their passions in these vital areas.
STEM education plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and critical thinking among students. Recognizing this, Mazda has made it a priority to support educators who work tirelessly to provide engaging learning experiences. The collaboration with DonorsChoose allows Mazda to channel funding directly into classrooms that need it the most, ensuring that every dollar has a meaningful impact.
The Initiative
Beginning on
December 1, in honor of Giving Tuesday, Mazda is launching a
$100,000 flash fund aimed specifically at fulfilling project requests from schools in key cities like
Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and
Boston-Manchester. This initial funding will pave the way for countless students to access necessary resources for their STEM-related projects.
But that's not all! Starting from
December 3 and continuing through the holiday season, Mazda will match up to an additional
$150,000 in donations made to STEM-focused projects submitted by teachers across the nation on DonorsChoose. This not only doubles the impact of each donation, but also encourages the community to contribute to the development and enrichment of students' educational experiences.
Brad Audet, Chief Marketing Officer at Mazda North American Operations, expressed enthusiasm for continuing this partnership with DonorsChoose: "After seeing the impact and joy these donations brought to students and teachers last season, we were excited to partner with DonorsChoose again this year. By supporting STEM projects, we're investing in the future of young students and helping them discover their passions and develop the skills they need to innovate and thrive."
Why Support STEM?
Education in STEM fields equips students with essential skills that will serve them well into their careers. As technology continues to evolve, having a strong foundation in these areas is increasingly important for the future workforce. Programs that support STEM education not only enhance student learning but also broaden their horizons by exposing them to various career opportunities.
Adam Disler, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at DonorsChoose, highlighted the importance of this initiative: "It's an honor to join forces with Mazda again this holiday season to help bring vital resources to classrooms. Donations like this create incredible opportunities for teachers to bring cutting-edge projects to life they otherwise would not have access to, empowering students to engage in STEM projects that will inspire their future dreams and careers."

With the thoughtful approach of companies like Mazda and DonorsChoose, the future looks brighter for countless students across the U.S. This initiative emphasizes the significance of collaboration between the corporate sector and educational organizations to create impactful solutions for today's pressing challenges in education.
