Halloween Afternoon Tea at Grand Hyatt Tokyo

As autumn arrives and Halloween approaches, Grand Hyatt Tokyo is set to host a whimsical and slightly eerie Halloween Afternoon Tea, running from October 1 to October 31, 2025, at the All-Day Dining venue, French Kitchen. This year’s theme presents a gathering of mischievous ghosts that invites guests into a world of delightful treats and intriguing flavors.

The Halloween Afternoon Tea introduces an assortment of spookily themed sweets that are both visually striking and delicious. Among the highlights are the “Brain” raspberry mousse, adorned with a jelly shell that mimics the look of brain matter, offering a fresh, tangy raspberry flavor. The “Pumpkin Cream Puff,” featuring a fluffy choux pastry filled with sweet pumpkin cream and decorated with chocolate eyes, promises to be a showstopper at the event. Also, delight in the cute “Ghost Macarons” and the aromatic “Chestnut Tartlet,” both showcasing the warmth of autumn ingredients. Another tantalizing sweet is the eyeball jelly made with rich mascarpone mousse and topped with coffee jelly, looking just like eerie eyeballs.

Savory items on the menu are equally enticing. Guests can sink their teeth into the “Noir Pumpkin Burger,” featuring a charcoal-infused bun filled with a juicy 100% beef patty and roasted pumpkin. There’s also the “Brain Tartine,” which creatively uses smoked salmon and tobiko on a baguette, mimicking the appearance of a brain. The creatively crafted “Deviled Eggs” are adorned with spider web patterns using charcoal for color, and a fresh tomato is ingeniously transformed into an “Eyeball” on a boro bun. For that Halloween touch, almond slices are used to depict claws on the witch finger bread, adding a playful twist to the dining experience. A must-try is the chilling “Noir Carrot Soup,” a cold dish that cleverly incorporates white and black, retaining the sweetness of carrots.

Two varieties of scones accompany the afternoon tea: the spiced pumpkin scone, infused with five kinds of spices, and the classic plain scone. These are served with autumn-inspired apple jam and clotted cream, enhancing the delightful tea experience.

“We strive to create an unforgettable Halloween-themed afternoon tea that is both playful and elegant, using seasonal ingredients that embody the spirit of the season,
