A Spectacular Display in the Skies
On October 13, 2025, AlterSky will present an extraordinary drone show titled 'Sorayaki - Finally, the Sky Became a Work of Art' during the Aichi Triennale 2025, Japan's largest international art festival held every three years since 2010. Taking place in the South Park of Seto City, the company’s first participation in this biennial event promises not only a visual feast but also a celebration of the city’s rich heritage of pottery.
An Artistic Collaboration
This year's theme for the Aichi Triennale is 'Between Ashes and Roses', and AlterSky joins the festival as a key partner to showcase a masterpiece in the night sky. The 'Sorayaki' drone show draws inspiration from Seto's fame as a pottery town, transforming the night into a canvas illuminated by drones that create light sculptures echoing the delicate artistry of ceramics. By integrating technology with art, the show aims to bridge tradition and innovation, captivating audiences with its dazzling display.
A Full House
The event was anticipated to draw large crowds, and it certainly delivered. The specially designated viewing areas filled to capacity, with attendees ranging from local residents to visitors from afar gathering to witness this technological marvel. With approximately 200 drones collaborating to paint bright images in the night sky, viewers were treated to the silhouettes of Seto's famous pottery shapes, flames that symbolize the pottery kilns, the official city logo, and the beloved mascot character, Seto-chan.
The opening and closing sequences of the show featured all drones illuminated in a vibrant pink hue. This stunning visual effect harmonized with pink glow sticks and bracelets distributed to guests, crafting an enchanting atmosphere that made the audience feel a part of the art.
