About NIJIN Academy

Opened in September 2023, NIJIN Academy is an alternative school for unschooled students from elementary to middle school. The academy has already welcomed over 500 students from 38 different prefectures across Japan.

With a curriculum built on multi-layered psychological safety, dialogic classes taught by experienced educators, and student-driven projects, NIJIN aims to alleviate feelings of inferiority or guilt associated with not attending traditional schools. More than 90% of students have been recognized for attendance by their respective schools.

NIJIN Inc. was founded by Tatsuya Hoshino, a former elementary school teacher, in April 2022.
