Special Lecture by Influential YouTuber Haiichi for Parents at Ideia High School

Special Lecture by Haiichi on July 27

The Ideia Human Support Service, which operates Ideia High School in Shibuya, Tokyo, is excited to announce a special lecture for parents featuring Haiichi, a prominent educational YouTuber. Scheduled for July 27, 2025, this event is focused on enhancing parental involvement in motivating children toward academic success.

Background of the Event

Since the introduction of the GIGA School Concept in 2020, Japanese education has undergone a significant transformation with the establishment of a one-to-one device environment in schools across the country. This has led to a rapid increase in the use of ICT in learning, profoundly shifting how children engage in education. Recent data from the OECD's PISA 2022 survey highlights this success — Japanese students ranked first in mathematical and scientific literacy and second in reading skills among OECD countries, showing impressive improvements, especially in reading where scores rose from 504 to 516.

As we move forward, there is a growing need to enhance not just the learning environment but also the content and quality of instruction tailored to the individual needs of children. The demand for high-quality learning materials that engage students effectively is more important than ever.

Recognizing these changes, Ideia High School welcomed Haiichi last year, where he inspired students with insights into fundamental learning methodologies. The session sparked positive responses and motivated students to approach learning with renewed enthusiasm.

The Upcoming Lecture

This year’s special lecture aims to empower parents with actionable insights on how to motivate their children academically and how to guide them through the transition from correspondence high schools to higher education. Haiichi will discuss practical tips for nurturing self-directed learning at home and strategies for encouraging children who may be disengaged or struggling with their studies.

Many parents struggle with uncertainty about how to communicate effectively with their children regarding academic matters. This session is designed to provide 'hints you can start using today!' for these parents, helping them to support their children in their educational journeys.
