Supporting Gaza: The 2026 Emergency Assistance Campaign
In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the international NGO PARCIC has launched the "2026 Emergency Assistance Campaign" aimed at providing critical support to the residents of this war-torn region. Since October 2023, the consequences of relentless Israeli military actions have devastated communities, making urgent aid a necessity for survival and future stability.
This campaign emphasizes sustainable support, focusing on immediate needs such as clothing distribution, nutritional aid for children, and home gardening assistance, all coordinated with local staff in Gaza. The campaign invites 350 individuals to join and offer monthly contributions starting from just 500 yen. The call for supporters remains open until October 31, 2026.
PARCIC has been active in Gaza since 2014 and has continuously worked in collaboration with local teams to ensure the consistent delivery of emergency relief supplies. The organization also has successfully distributed clothing to children with chronic illnesses and provided clean water access, showcasing their commitment to improving living conditions amidst ongoing challenges. Future plans involve:
- - Psychological care and income improvement training for women.
- - Egg provision in collaboration with poultry farmers, targeting children facing malnutrition.
- - Support for home gardening through composting food waste.
- - Consistent clothing donations for children afflicted by chronic illnesses.

The Current State of Gaza
Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has faced catastrophic destruction due to over two years of Israeli military actions. Although a ceasefire agreement was made in October 2025, clashes continue daily, with civilian fatalities rising beyond recognition. Currently, the total death toll has surpassed 73,000 individuals, including a concerning number of children under 18, who comprise half of Gaza's population of 2 million. With over 90% of the residents displaced, they are forced to live in deplorable conditions in makeshift shelters.
Due to the ongoing military blockade, access to essential supplies such as food, water, medicine, and fuel has dramatically diminished, leading to chronic shortages and severe health crises. The unsanitary living conditions have exacerbated public health issues, contributing to outbreaks of skin diseases, respiratory ailments, and lice infestations.
Gaza's residents continue to face harsh deprivation of safety and dignity as the conflict persists. Many citizens express their fears of being forgotten amid growing global attention on other geopolitical issues.
Since its inception, PARCIC has prioritized supporting individuals in Gaza, amplifying their voices, and striving to improve their conditions toward a sustainable future. By enrolling as a monthly supporter, individuals can help PARCIC continue its life-saving efforts.
Gaza is littered with rubble, and children often walk for long periods just to collect water due to destroyed infrastructure. Seasonal rains from November to March can lead to flooding, throwing families' makeshift homes into disarray.
A Message from Yoko Ohno, PARCIC Representative
"Are we to remain forgotten?" is a poignant reflection of the desperation, anger, and sorrow echoed by the Palestinian people. Despite the 2025 ceasefire, hostilities continue, with the toll on lives—especially children—growing heavier. The desperate humanitarian crisis underscores the struggle of individuals trying to survive under near-impossible conditions.
The local staff at PARCIC bravely perseveres in their essential work, often facing hardships themselves. Amidst bombings and threats, it is crucial we not allow the daily lives and hopes of Gazans to fade away. As citizens viewing from afar, we strive to remain connected and show our solidarity through ongoing support for the people of Palestine.
All contributions received as part of the Palestinian supporters program will be delivered directly to provide emergency supplies that protect lives and uphold dignity.
We kindly urge you to join forces with PARCIC and lend your support for the long haul, standing by those in need with compassionate action.
