The SKIP City Visual Plaza in Kawaguchi, Saitama, has announced a major renovation of its video box corner, set to unveil on May 19, 2026. This renewal introduces a new section titled "Enjoy Watching! Real World," which allows visitors to experience the evolution of video technology firsthand.

In collaboration with NHK Enterprise's Natural Sciences Department, the exhibit will showcase cutting-edge high-definition Virtual Reality (VR) content that brings the natural world to life. This includes immersive experiences that aim to captivate audiences with stunning realism and a sense of presence that feels almost tangible.

12K Immersive Experience: A Journey through Nature

One of the highlights of the new exhibit is the 12K Immersive Experience: Anywhere in Nature. Visitors will be able to dive into a breathtaking 12K VR experience displayed on a giant screen.

What to Expect:

The 360-degree footage creates an illusion that you are right there in breathtaking natural landscapes, allowing you to witness the beauty of nature as if you were physically present.

2. Intuitive Navigation
Using a joystick, guests can easily explore the environment—moving up, down, left, and right— along with options to zoom in and out, engaging them deeper into the natural scenes.

3. Adventure and Discovery
The experience encourages exploration, as guests can embark on a quest to find the hidden character "Higeji-san" within the vast expanse of nature, creating a sense of adventure and fun.

8K Find Kobotan!

Additionally, the exhibit features an 8K Find Kobotan! interactive game, suitable for visitors of all ages. This game allows participants to search for the beloved Saitama mascot Kobotan within stunning 8K visuals.

Game Highlights:

1. 8K Resolution Experience
The game is displayed on a large 60-inch 8K monitor showcasing scenes from Saitama. Players will encounter as many as 1,000 Kobotan mascots hidden within these visuals.

2. Spot the Differences
Participants must identify "the correct Kobotan" by distinguishing subtle differences, making it a fun challenge. The game features three difficulty levels, ensuring enjoyment for players ranging from beginners to advanced.
