The Launch of 'heeee!' Vol. 6: A Sustainable Experience in Omotesando

Experience Sustainability with 'heeee!' Vol. 6

The latest edition of the popular sustainability event, 'heeee!', officially kicks off from October 7 to October 26, 2025, at the GYRE.FOOD restaurant on the 4th floor of GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo. Organized by BLOOM, led by CEO Asako Saito, the event promotes the concept of “Skis (Gap and Love) Sustainability” to create awareness and inspire action towards sustainability in society.

The theme for this edition is a “Circulation Spreading Through Omotesando.” This time, visitors can expect even more innovative initiatives, including special menus utilizing food resources efficiently and engaging collaborations with nearby stores.

Unique Features of 'heeee!' Vol. 6

Culinary Collaboration

The event offers a special menu featuring ingredients from local businesses, highlighting the importance of community in fostering sustainable practices. For instance, bread trimmings from the renowned Kinokuniya supermarket and sweet potatoes from Shibuya Fertilizer, which emphasizes a circular economy, will be featured in dishes. Attendees can look forward to 'heeee! Lunch Plate' at the restaurant 'uni' priced at 1,700 yen (tax included).

In addition, partnering cafes in the Omotesando area will extend the reach of this circulation, creating a collaborative ecosystem among local eateries to make sustainability a shared experience.

Sustainable Dessert Experience

Continuing the sustainable initiative, 'heeee!' introduces a reward system for those who finish their meals. Diners can receive a “Reward Ticket” at their table after enjoying the 'heeee! Lunch Plate' at 'uni.' This ticket can be exchanged for complimentary sustainable sweets, with an additional reward available at Café Le Pomier, located a short three-minute walk away.

Engaging Children in Sustainability

One of the highlights of 'heeee!' Vol. 6 is a cooking class tailored for children, under the guidance of Michelin-starred Chef Ryoma Shida. Kids will have the chance to create a Mont Blanc parfait using Shibuya Fertilizer's sweet potatoes. Additionally, they can participate in a decoration workshop using upcycled coffee bean sacks to create eco-friendly bags, allowing children to creatively engage with concepts of food and resource circulation.

Giving Back to the Community

Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Shibuya District Children’s Table’s HOTNET Kitchen, emphasizing the social responsibility integral to sustainability practices.

Understanding the Background of 'heeee!'

October is recognized as Food Loss Reduction Month in Japan, where an alarming 4.64 million tons of food are wasted annually—equivalent to each person throwing away one rice ball every day. BLOOM, with its mission to promote a sustainable society, aims to raise awareness of this critical issue through enjoyable experiences at the ‘heeee!’ events.

With initiatives like 'heeee!', the organization hopes to not only inform but also inspire attendees to take tangible actions against food waste.
