Welcome Back to Philadelphia’s Wawa Welcome America Festival in 2025
The city of Philadelphia is set to light up with excitement as
Welcome America, Inc. unveils a vibrant lineup for the highly-anticipated
Wawa Welcome America Festival. This year's celebration promises to blend both fresh programming and cherished traditions, creating an unforgettable July Fourth experience for residents and visitors alike.
New Festivities on the Horizon
One of the standout highlights of the festival is the return of the
Philly Pops, rebranded from the
No Name Pops. This iconic ensemble will perform on
July 3 at the historic
Independence National Historical Park, showcasing a rich musical legacy under the direction of the newly appointed Music Director,
Chris Dragon. This performance marks a continuation of a beloved tradition that spans over four decades.
Furthermore, Welcome America is thrilled to announce partnerships with local sports teams, including the
Philadelphia Phillies and
Philadelphia Soccer 2026. In anticipation of upcoming events, a block party will take place on
June 22 outside
Citizens Bank Park and
Lincoln Financial Field. Expect a lively atmosphere filled with entertainment, food trucks, and a beer garden from
2 PM to 6 PM.
Fan-Favorite Events Return
The festival also welcomes back signature events that have become synonymous with Philadelphia's patriotic celebrations:
- - Concilio's Hispanic Fiesta: Held on June 28 from 2 PM to 9 PM at the newly designated LOVE Park, this event celebrates Latino culture with music, dance, and culinary delights, fostering community spirit.
- - Juneteenth Block Party: Scheduled for June 19 from 12 PM to 7 PM at the African American Museum, this party will celebrate freedom through performances as well as support for local Black-owned businesses.
- - Kidchella Music Festival: On June 20 from 4 PM to 9 PM at the Smith Memorial Playground, families can look forward to engaging performances, art activities, and fireworks for the children.
- - Avenue of the Arts Block Party: Taking place on June 21 from 12 PM to 6 PM, this event will infuse the area with high-powered entertainment and art, making it a must-visit.
- - Wawa Hoagie Day: A tradition honoring local heroes, this special day on June 26 allows attendees to enjoy FREE Wawa Shorti Hoagies and live music at Independence Mall.
- - Gospel on Independence: An evocation of the power of music, this celebration on June 27 at 6th and Market Streets will feature various local gospel artists.
- - Celebration of Black Music Month with Fireworks: A culmination of musical expressions originating from Black artists happens on June 29 from 4 PM to 9 PM.
- - Salute to Service: A musical tribute by the U.S. Army Field Band on July 2, set to bring a patriotic fervor to Independence Mall.
The festival culminates in a grand celebration on
July Fourth, beginning with a
Celebration of Freedom Ceremony at
10 AM, followed by the
Salute to Independence Parade at
11 AM. The evening promises a spectacular concert, broadcasted live on
NBC10, ending with a breathtaking fireworks display above the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, making it a perfect closure for 16 days of festivities.
