Canon Gallery Launches Photo Exhibition Call

Canon Marketing Japan, led by President Masachika Adachi, has announced an exciting opportunity for both professional and amateur photographers. From February 1, 2026, Canon Gallery in Ginza and Osaka will begin accepting submissions for a series of photo exhibitions scheduled from July to December of the same year.

The Canon Gallery is dedicated to promoting photography and supporting photographers in their artistic pursuits. This initiative aims to foster a vibrant photography culture by featuring a diverse range of exhibitions throughout the year. The upcoming call for entries is a testament to this commitment, inviting photographers from various backgrounds to participate.

Application Details

Eligibility

• - Open to both professionals and amateurs.
• - Applicants must be residents of Japan or have a contact address within the country.

Application Period

• - Start Date: February 1, 2026
• - End Date: February 28, 2026 (postmarked applications accepted)

Application Process

• - New this year, all applicants must register for a CANON ID. Interested participants should complete their registration before applying through the Canon Gallery website. The application materials must then be sent to the Canon Gallery in Ginza.

Submission Requirements

• - The submitted works must be previously unpublished pieces.
• - If works are to be showcased as silver halide prints, they must be captured using a Canon camera. For digital prints, only works printed with Canon printers will be accepted. However, there are no restrictions regarding the camera brand used for taking the photographs.
• - Works should be submitted in a booklet format containing between 30 to 50 samples, formatted to A4 or 6x8 size, and sent to the Canon Gallery in Ginza.
• - The printing method for the sample does not need to be from a Canon printer.
• - Once the exhibition is confirmed, the showcased works will be selected from the submitted samples.
• - AI-generated images are not eligible for submission.
• - Notification of acceptance will be sent out by April 2026.
