Discover the Beauty of Hydrangeas in 2025
Showa Kinen Park, located in Tachikawa and Akishima, is set to enchant visitors once again with its annual "Hydrangea Walk 2025." This year, the event will run from
June 7 to July 6, showcasing the park's vibrant display of hydrangeas that bloom beautifully in the wet season, transforming it into a serene and picturesque landscape perfect for a leisurely stroll.
As the rainy season graces the area, visitors can enjoy the subtle charm that the hydrangeas bring. Throughout the park, a variety of hydrangeas will bloom in colorful clusters, providing perfect opportunities for memorable photographs at designated photo spots. Visitors are encouraged to borrow hydrangea umbrellas, available for free at various park gates. These umbrellas not only protect from sudden rain but also add to the whimsical experience of exploring the park under the magic of flowering hydrangeas.
Special Photo Spots
From
June 7 to July 6, visitors can find a dedicated photo area featuring hydrangea umbrellas set up on the northern slope of the Fureai Plaza. Here, the combination of real hydrangeas and the colorful umbrellas creates an enchanting backdrop for those capture the moment.
Floating Flowers Event
Scheduled from June 21 to June 29, the Floating Flowers event is a highlight during this period. Located right inside the Tachikawa Gate, visitors will find hydrangeas elegantly floating in water near the Canal Fountain. As fresh flowers change daily, returning guests may be treated to different floral displays, making each visit unique as the arrangement evolves.
Collaboration Exhibition with Akigawa Valley
In tandem with the hydrangea celebration, a photo exhibition will introduce visitors to Akigawa Valley, a renowned hydrangea spot. This exhibition will run alongside the Hydrangea Walk from
June 7 to July 6, except on specific dates: June 10, 17, 20, 21, 24, and July 1, when it will be on hiatus. Hosted in the Hananoki-en Exhibition Hall, the showcased works are presented in collaboration with the Akigawa Hydrangea Festival Committee and local temples, such as Takahata Fudoson and Shiofune Kannon Temple.
