Mashee's First Solo Exhibition: 'Tracing the Outlines'

Introduction

Photography enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting event! From November 18 to 24, 2025, the Basement Gallery at the Kitamura Camera Store in Shinjuku will host Mashee's inaugural solo exhibition titled 'Tracing the Outlines.' This exhibition marks a significant milestone for the artist, who has been active in various photography genres, including portraits, cosplay, and wedding photography.

Theme of the Exhibition: 'Outlines'

Mashee's exhibition revolves around the theme of 'Outlines.' As the photographer celebrates five years in the field, the selected works showcase a restructured narrative that encompasses a range of genres, all filtered through the lens of outlines. Visitors can look forward to an engaging visual journey that highlights the unique contours of Mashee's artistic vision. The masterpieces presented will not only reflect the diverse subjects but also emphasize the emotional resonance each image carries.

About Mashee

Mashee, a photographer who thrives on capturing moments that stay in someone's heart, began his journey in 2019 after photographing a colleague. While working as a clinical laboratory technician, he couldn’t resist his growing passion for portrait photography, leading him to join 'Shashin Kissa Es,' hosted by Nobuya Takahashi and Yohei Sawamura. With an eagerness to expand his photographic expression, Mashee tackled various genres, including snapshots, portraits, fetish photography, cosplay, and wedding photos. His work is a testament to his dedication to exploring and narrating stories through imagery.

The Basement Gallery

Nestled within the Kitamura Camera Store on the basement floor, the Basement Gallery is a newly established space dedicated to the culture of photography. It aims to inspire all photography lovers by showcasing exhibitions from various photographers and hosting collaborative projects with camera manufacturers. It was inaugurated in June 2024 with a renewed vision of promoting photographic culture from the underground. At the gallery, visitors can immerse themselves in events that celebrate the art of photography and the tools that support it.
