Collaborative Eco-Store Initiative
FPCO, a leading manufacturer of food containers, and Super Oji, a community-focused supermarket chain, have joined forces to announce their new Eco-Store Initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen their existing efforts in horizontal recycling through the launch of the "Eco-Store Collaboration Declaration". Given the growing awareness around environmental sustainability, both companies aspire to establish their stores as eco-leaders within their communities. Here are some of the key components of this initiative:
1. Enhanced Use of Eco-Trays
One of the main focuses of the Eco-Store Initiative is the increased utilization of eco-friendly products, particularly eco-trays made from recycled materials. Super Oji will broaden the range of eco-products used in its stores, aiming to reduce the environmental impact on the region significantly. This move not only promotes sustainable practices but also encourages customers to opt for eco-friendly choices while shopping.
2. Increased Promotion of Horizontal Recycling
To further engage shoppers, Super Oji will implement various promotional strategies, including posters and digital signage. These visual aids will inform customers about the importance of participating in horizontal recycling efforts, specifically targeting the return rates of used food trays. By enhancing public engagement through effective communication, Super Oji hopes to raise awareness and boost the volume of collected materials.
Ongoing and Future Efforts
The Eco-Store Initiative builds upon Super Oji's existing horizontal recycling efforts known as "Store-to-Store". The supermarket chain currently collects used food trays via designated collection boxes available at its stores, with the retrieved trays sent to FPCO’s recycling facility. Here, they are transformed back into eco products like eco-trays and other eco-friendly materials, employed once again in Super Oji’s supermarkets. This closed-loop system exemplifies an effective method of resource recycling and reduction of waste.
Last fiscal year (March 2026), Super Oji achieved a remarkable collection record of one ton of food trays, demonstrating the community's commitment towards sustainability and collective actions towards environmental goals.
Commitment to Sustainable Development
Through the Eco-Store Initiative, FPCO and Super Oji are not only aiming to enhance their recycling efforts but also to empower the local communities in participating actively in resource conservation. The collaboration signifies a strategic step towards realizing a sustainable society, where ecological responsibility is shared by consumers and businesses alike.
Both FPCO and Super Oji remain dedicated to working with local communities to bolster resource circulation and contribute positively to environmental sustainability, making a notable impact for future generations. By focusing on eco-friendly practices and transparent initiatives, the Eco-Store Initiative is set to serve as a model for other businesses looking to improve their environmental stewardship.
