RUSHfest Canada 2025: Celebrating a Decade Since Rush's Final Concert

RUSHfest Canada 2025: A Decade of Tribute to Rush

This upcoming summer, Toronto will transform into a hub of rock nostalgia as it hosts RUSHfest Canada 2025. Fans of the iconic Canadian band Rush are in for a remarkable treat—this two-day festival not only commemorates the ten-year anniversary of Rush's last concert held on August 1, 2015, in Los Angeles but also aims to celebrate the band's profound impact on music and culture.

The event is scheduled for August 1 and 2 at the Massey Hall and TD Music Hall, beloved venues that are woven into the fabric of Toronto's music scene. The festival has been organized by Steve Brown, founder of RUSHfest Scotland, alongside Paul Beaulieu, a superfan and music journalist. Their vision for RUSHfest is much more than fan gatherings; it's a heartfelt tribute that channels profits towards brain cancer research at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, honoring the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

A Celebration with Heart

On the first night at Massey Hall, which has historical significance as the venue where Rush recorded their first live album, All The World's A Stage, fans can look forward to an exhilarating lineup. Among the special guests set to grace the stage are Terry Brown, Rush's producer for the first ten albums, and Hugh Syme, who has been the band's art director since 1975.

The night features performances from multiple artists including Jonathan Dinklage, who was part of Rush's Clockwork Angels tour, and Jacob Moon, who gained viral fame for his cover of “Subdivisions.” Other performers include instrumental virtuoso David Barrett, talented duo Nina DiGregorio and Brody Dolynuik, and the UK band Moving Pictures. Additionally, acclaimed author Kevin J. Anderson, who collaborated with Peart on various projects, will also be present. This gathering celebrates not only the music but the shared heritage that Rush's fans cherish.

Continuing the Legacy

The festivities continue on August 2 at the TD Music Hall with acts such as 2112, a tribute band hailing from Burlington, that will play selections from All the World's A Stage, and Permanent Waves, a popular Toronto act. Fans can also expect remarkable performances from the RUSHfest Canada Allstars Band, alongside return appearances from previous artists.

Special guests of honor will include members from the Peart and Živojinoviç families, as well as key figures like Bob King and Mike Dixon, who have been pivotal in building the band’s legacy. Although RUSHfest Canada is not officially affiliated with the band itself, the organizers have received immense goodwill from many associated with Rush’s history.

How to Join in the Celebration

As the event draws near, fans are encouraged to secure their tickets as only a limited number remain available. Tickets can be purchased through Massey Hall for the first day, and TD Music Hall for the second day. VIP packages are also being offered via RUSHfestCanada.ca.

This year, RUSHfest Canada stands as both a celebration of an iconic band and a meaningful contribution towards an essential cause. It promises a rich tapestry of music, memory, and community spirit that will resonate within the hearts of many.
