Jennifer Collins of Kidcreate Studio Honored as IFA Franchisee of the Year for 2026

Celebrated Houstonian Awarded Franchisee of the Year

Jennifer Collins, the beloved owner of Kidcreate Studio located in Houston’s Greater Heights, has received an esteemed recognition as the Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA). This prestigious honor will be presented to her at the IFA26 Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C., scheduled for September 14-16, 2026. Collins's dedication to her community, innovative approach to business, and commitment to early childhood education have distinguished her as an exemplary franchise owner in the realm of franchising.

A Journey of Passion and Purpose

Raised in Oak Forest, Houston, Collins initially embarked on a career in corporate loss prevention. However, a pivotal visit to her son’s preschool sparked a passion for early childhood education, leading her to pursue a new career path as a preschool director. With the support of her husband, Brian Collins, a former Air Force officer and Rice University EMBA graduate, they decided to establish Kidcreate Studio, enhancing the community’s access to creative arts education for children.

“We envisioned a place where children could express themselves artistically in a safe and nurturing environment,” said Collins. “Our studio is not just a business; it’s a community space where families come together to foster creativity and growth.”

Recognition Through Community Engagement

Jennifer’s studio offers a variety of programs including weekly art classes, homeschool sessions, summer camps, workshops, and birthday parties. A standout feature of Kidcreate Studio is its Mobile Studio initiative, which ensures that hands-on art instruction reaches children in local preschools, daycares, and community organizations, particularly serving those who may not otherwise have access to such opportunities.

The IFA Franchisee of the Year award celebrates franchise owners who demonstrate excellence in areas such as entrepreneurship, community involvement, and workforce development. Matt Haller, President, and CEO of IFA, praised Collins: “Franchisees of the Year exemplify the spirit of franchising; they are dedicated to uplifting those around them and creating jobs in their communities.”

Emphasizing Community Connection

Collins emphasizes that the studio’s success is deeply rooted in the relationships she has cultivated within her community. “While national recognition is gratifying, my true pride lies in the direct impact we’re making in our local area,” she noted. “The families that visit our studio are not merely customers; they are vital members of our artistic family.”

As president of the Kidcreate Studio Franchise Advisory Council, she continues to advocate for franchisee concerns and aims to enhance the franchise system’s overall effectiveness.

The Larger Impact of Franchising

With nearly 832,000 franchise establishments across the United States that contribute to nearly 8.8 million direct jobs, franchising serves as a robust economic engine. Collins’s success story not only illustrates individual achievement but also represents the broader potential for franchises to create jobs and stimulate local economies. Studies by Oxford Economics reveal that franchise businesses typically offer superior wages and benefits compared to non-franchised entities, emphasizing the impact they have on empowering underrepresented communities.

Upcoming Events and Future Aspirations

Jennifer will be honored at a special luncheon on September 15, 2026, during the IFA26 Advocacy Summit. Both she and Brian continue to explore opportunities to expand their franchise as interest in children's enrichment programs grows across Texas and beyond.
