Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery Unveil New Harry Potter-Themed Experiences in Abu Dhabi
In a grand announcement, Miral, the premier developer of immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, alongside Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, revealed plans to create three exciting new Harry Potter-themed areas at the Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. This expansion is set to significantly enhance the offerings of the region's largest indoor theme park.
A Magical Expansion
The new themed areas, aptly named Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and the Forbidden Forest, will encompass around 63,000 square meters (678,000 square feet), providing ample room for attractions specifically designed to bring the magical world of Harry Potter to life. All construction efforts are scheduled to conclude in 2029, marking a significant milestone in the park's evolution.
His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of Miral, emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting that it signifies a critical step in the ongoing transformation of Yas Island and the emirate of Abu Dhabi. He stated, “The introduction of these Harry Potter-themed parks is a testament to our long-standing partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, showcasing our commitment to crafting unforgettable experiences that inspire generations to come.”
This thrilling expansion is aligned with Abu Dhabi's overall vision to diversify its economy and boost tourism in the region, positioning Yas Island as a prime global leisure and entertainment destination.
Immersive Experiences Await
The Harry Potter-themed lands are expected to feature world-exclusive attractions, designed to captivate fans through immersive storytelling, inventive design, and engaging experiences. Simon Robinson, President of Global Experiences Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, remarked, “The expansion of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi showcases our dedication to creating world-class destinations that leverage our storytelling prowess. By introducing new Harry Potter-themed realms, we can strengthen the connection between our iconic franchises and their enthusiastic audience.”
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has successfully brought some of the world's most beloved stories and characters to life since its opening. With the current six immersive worlds in place, the addition of these new Harry Potter realms will significantly enhance the park's appeal, making it an even greater draw for visitors from across the globe.
A Broader Vision for Yas Island
This newly announced expansion is part of a more comprehensive project for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, which also includes two previously announced DC-themed attractions: the ‘Kryptonite Collider’ and ‘Superman Up and Away.’ Together, these new developments will increase the theme park's overall size by more than 50%, adding approximately 70,000 square meters (753,478 square feet) of theme park space.
This strategic enhancement significantly contributes to Yas Island's portfolio of world-class attractions, reinforcing its status as a leading destination for leisure and entertainment worldwide.
