Blesc: Visualizing Students' Hidden Struggles

The first of these projects, known as Blesc, aims to transform the school environment into a supportive space where teachers can identify students' unseen struggles. Through a unique dialogue system incorporating daily diary entries and artificial intelligence, Blesc allows students to express their thoughts and feelings without the fear of being judged. Often, students find it challenging to speak openly about their problems, making it crucial to create a system that can detect subtle changes in their behavior or mood before they escalate into more serious issues.

Blesc's platform uses AI to analyze students' diary entries consistently, identifying trends within classrooms and schools as a whole. While personal conversations remain confidential, teachers receive insights into the broader emotional landscape of their students. This innovative approach seeks to foster a proactive support system within schools, aiming to shift the current paradigm from "seeking help after facing trouble" to one where issues can be spotted and addressed well in advance. This project seeks to engage individuals who may not consider themselves traditional readers by inviting them to discover the value of literature through other means.

The team behind YOMU+α plans to validate these five methods through hands-on experimentation in locations throughout Shibuya and other parts of the city. Through these experiences, they hope to demonstrate that broadening access to literature creates pathways for more people to connect with and enjoy the written word. By the end of their three-month period of experimentation, YOMU+α will compile their findings into a comprehensive exploration of the future value and enjoyment of books, looking a century ahead.

The GARAGE Program at 100BANCH is an ongoing initiative that continually welcomes new entries for its accelerator program, with applications for the upcoming 112th term closing on September 28. This program not only offers a physical space for experimentation but also provides mentorship from experts in various fields, alongside opportunities to be involved in over a hundred events and exhibitions each year. As of July 2026, 415 projects have been supported, out of 1,262 applications, showcasing the remarkable commitment to nurturing the innovative spirit of young entrepreneurs.
