Tamura Koma Joins Forces with DEAR ME for a Meaningful Fashion Show
Tamura Koma Co., Ltd, with its headquarters in Osaka, Japan, has proudly partnered with the non-profit organization DEAR ME to support the 12th DEAR ME Fashion Show, held on February 21, 2026, in Manila, Philippines. This collaboration reflects Tamura Koma's ongoing commitment to social contribution, particularly focusing on empowering children through creative initiatives.
The Motivation Behind the Collaboration
Established in 1894 as a leading textile trading company, Tamura Koma specializes in a wide range of products, from fabrics and materials to fashion items and industrial supplies. In recent years, the company has initiated efforts to support future generations, aligning with its mission of facilitating a more sustainable and equitable society.
DEAR ME's vision of creating a society where everyone can dream freely and express themselves resonated deeply with Tamura Koma. Recognizing that their fabrics could play a role in this mission, the company decided to donate several materials for costume production in this fashion show, hoping to make a positive impact on the lives of participating children.
Details of the DEAR ME Fashion Show 2026
The DEAR ME Fashion Show marks an exciting first with international participation from the Philippines, Cambodia, and Japan. Tamura Koma’s donated fabrics were used primarily for the costumes worn by children during the event in Manila.
The costumes were designed based on the children’s dreams and aspirations, with inspiration drawn from their ideas, such as outfits resembling firefighters, vibrant dresses, and mermaid-themed outfits. Japanese university students and volunteers took the lead in bringing these creative concepts to life, aiming to allow the children to experience the joy of self-expression through fashion.
Past Fashion Show Events
The DEAR ME fashion shows have previously been held in Cambodia and Japan in February and March 2026, respectively.
- - Cambodia: The inaugural event took place on February 15, 2026, in Siem Reap, with 20 models participating and approximately 100 attendees celebrating the joy of self-expression.
- - Philippines: The event in Manila, the largest ever, welcomed 62 models and around 300 spectators to witness a dazzling display of talent and creativity.
- - Japan: The fashion show in Osaka on March 8, 2026, featured 20 children, including those of foreign descent, promoting the theme of multicultural coexistence, attracting around 200 attendees.
