Honoring Women Innovators in STEM at Kellanova

February 11 marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a special day dedicated to celebrating the essential roles women play in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This annual observance aims to promote inclusion in these historically male-dominated arenas and inspire future generations of innovators. In recognition of this day, Kellanova is excited to spotlight four outstanding women from different regions, each demonstrating leadership, creativity, and commitment to STEM.

Claudia Arboleda Tamayo - Senior Director, Manufacturing (Mexico)

Claudia leads a highly dedicated team, focusing on operational strategy, risk management, and budget efficiency at Kellanova. With over 25 years of experience, she has effectively enhanced operational excellence across various plants in Mexico.

Claudia’s inspiration to pursue a career in STEM stemmed from her knack for problem-solving, which she discovered during her studies in International Business. The challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic solidified her dedication to Supply Chain management, allowing her to experience the rewarding process of seeing products sold, knowing she played a crucial role in that journey.

Advice for Young People: Claudia encourages aspiring STEM professionals to pursue their dreams. “You can enter STEM at any point in life; just dream big and go for it!”

She is not only responsible for fostering data-driven initiatives but also acts as the Executive STEM inclusion sponsor, advocating for greater diversity within the tech space.

Having studied Math and Physics in the UK, Loretta’s preference for analytical subjects guided her career path from finance to data analytics. Highlighting her belief in seizing opportunities, she reflects on how each “yes” to a new challenge has driven her professional growth.

Advice for Youth: Loretta urges young people to trust their instincts and take risks in their career choices. “Stick with your gut; follow your skills and passion, and you will thrive!”
