To address this workforce shortage, Kellanova has partnered with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) to launch a pioneering training program aimed at preparing local students for the high-demand roles of Electrical and Instrumentation (EI) technicians. Bryan Sparks, director of the Jackson plant, emphasized the importance of this program: "The technology on our plant floor is evolving, and as it becomes more complex, the role of our EI technicians becomes paramount. By establishing this training in-house, we’re investing in our workforce and facilitating quicker promotions by equipping our employees with the necessary skills from day one."

Dr. Jacquene Rainey, president of TCAT Jackson, noted that the collaboration ensures students are gaining practical skills that have immediate applicability. "Students get invaluable exposure to the careers they can build here in Jackson, connect with industry professionals, and graduate job-ready," she stated. Since 2021, this partnership has successfully brought 50 employees into its EI training program, empowering both existing Kellanova staff and other Jackson residents eager to enter the manufacturing sector.
