CodeSignal Launches Free Generative AI Training Program on AWS for Global Student Upskilling

CodeSignal Expands Access to Generative AI Education

In a bid to empower the next generation with essential tech skills, CodeSignal has announced an expansive new Generative AI training program powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This initiative aims to provide free educational resources to over 30,000 students and 1,000 faculty members across the globe, alongside making learning paths accessible to millions.

The program focuses on Prompt Engineering and Enterprise AI, utilizing tools like Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Q. This initiative is part of the AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance, which seeks to bridge the skills gap and prepare learners for high-demand tech roles. The combination of AWS's capabilities and CodeSignal's immersive platform promises to create a significant impact on tech education.

One of the standout features of this curriculum is the course titled Prompting for Everyone with Amazon Bedrock Models. This course is designed to familiarize learners with the fundamentals of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and practical AI automation. Future learning paths will expand on these topics to stay aligned with the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Hands-On Learning Experience

CodeSignal differentiates itself from traditional online learning platforms by offering hands-on experiences that mirror real-world applications. Partnered with AWS as a Training Partner, CodeSignal transforms typical passive video content into engaging, interactive lessons, enabling students to develop skills in a practical context. The integration of Cosmo, CodeSignal’s AI tutor, further enhances this experience by providing real-time feedback and guidance to students, leading to a remarkable engagement rate that is three to five times higher than standard benchmarks.

"The fastest way to learn is by doing—and that's exactly what these paths deliver," said Stephanie Durand, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at CodeSignal. This approach allows students to work with authentic AWS tools, solve real-world problems, and cultivate skills applicable in today’s job market.

Moreover, CodeSignal’s commitment to education extends further as part of the 2025 AWS Education Equity Initiative (EEI). This initiative offers AWS credits to eligible organizations aimed at providing cloud-based learning solutions to underserved communities. With these resources, CodeSignal aims to broaden access for students in diverse regions, including Colombia, Brazil, and Thailand.

Building an Inclusive AI Workforce

Aanya Niaz, the Global Impact Leader at AWS’s Education Equity Initiative, emphasized the importance of this endeavor, stating, "Building an inclusive AI workforce starts with equitable learning opportunities. CodeSignal's innovative approach to teaching about Amazon Q and SageMaker will open up valuable education in generative AI to learners worldwide." This progressive step not only empowers students with practical knowledge but also lays the groundwork for better career pathways in the AI industry.

As the demand for AI expertise surges, CodeSignal’s new training initiative is setting a benchmark for effective AI education by prioritizing application-driven experiences that reflect the current needs in AI development. The collaboration between AWS and CodeSignal marks a significant step forward in expanding access to AI education, ultimately equipping learners with the skills necessary for successful careers in the tech industry.

Students and educators interested in taking advantage of these free learning paths are encouraged to reach out to their institutions for registration details. Additionally, the courses will also be available to the general public through CodeSignal Learn, with options for both free and paid content.
