Books-A-Million Unveils Winners of Fourth Annual Round Up For Writers Contest

Books-A-Million, the second-largest bookstore chain in the United States, recently celebrated the extraordinary creativity of its store associates by announcing the winners of the fourth-annual Round Up For Writers contest. This event not only showcases talent but also actively contributes to a noble cause, raising more than $200,000 for the nonprofit literary organization, Poets & Writers.

The contest invited store associates from across the country to submit original written pieces and artwork, representing the diverse voices within the Books-A-Million family. Out of the numerous submissions, five winners emerged: four recognized for their written works and one for visual artistry.

Julie Dueis from Beaufort, SC, shared a heartfelt piece named "Four Words," which emphasizes the profound impact of simple actions. The four words in her story changed lives—hers and potentially that of another, illustrating the transformative power of kindness.

Jake Pruett from Katy, TX, penned a reflective piece titled "More Than Muscle: The Weight of Words." His writing offers a personal perspective on how words shape identity and vocation, resonating with those who understand the weight they carry in life and professions, particularly in the demanding field of firefighting.

Skylar Betterley from Jacksonville Beach, FL, contributed a powerful work entitled "You Will Not Break Me." This submission expresses themes of resilience and defiance, encapsulating a struggle against adversities that many endure.

Tiffany Walerych, this year’s art contest winner from Ft. Myers, FL, triumphed for the second consecutive year. Her unique artistic voice and creativity impressed the judges once again, solidifying her place as a noteworthy talent within the Books-A-Million community.
