Kakujo Fishery's Fresh Grilled Eel Sales Return!

The renowned Kakujo Fishery, known for its fresh seafood offerings, is set to host a spectacular event on August 13 and 14, 2026, at its Sayama store. For those who couldn’t get enough of our delicious grilled eel during the traditional Doyo no Ushi no Hi (Day of the Ox in summer), this is your chance to indulge in freshly grilled domestic eel right off our special kitchen car! This summer event promises to recreate the lively atmosphere of our last eel sales, where we sold around 97,000 pieces of eel on July 26, 2026. With the continuing high temperatures, there's no better way to boost your energy than with our savory grilled eel.

During this exclusive experience, customers can expect a range of tantalizing options. The grilled eel will be prepared right before your eyes in our kitchen car, delivering an aromatic and juicy treat that is simply irresistible. The Sayama store will also offer the special “Unajuu” (grilled eel rice bowl) made with fresh, hot-off-the-grill eel, available through a reservation system.

The eel products, including unajuu and various grilled eel items, will be plentiful as part of our commitment to bringing quality seafood to the table. In the lead-up to this event, excitement has been building around our kitchen car, creating a buzz among seafood lovers eager for the smells of grilling eel to fill the air.

At last year’s Doyo no Ushi no Hi, Kakujo Fishery established a record of vibrant sales, underscored by the long lines and eager customers at our stands. The sight of the staff grilling eel in the special tents, with the sweet and savory aroma wafting through the air, was nothing short of breathtaking. As temperatures continue to soar, we encourage everyone to visit us for this delicious culinary experience!
