Event Highlights


Kicking off on February 7, 2026, this incredible event spans multiple dates, including February 8, 14, and 15, taking place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM each day. Participants will step onto the sacred ring of the prestigious Heisei Shigeyama stable, a revered dojo known for producing some of the sport's greatest talents. Here's what you can expect:

1. Hands-On Sumo Training: Under the watchful eyes of Asahifuji, gain unique insights by experiencing foundational sumo techniques such as shiko (stomping exercises), ashi-sabaki (footwork), and various forms of practice bouts.
2. Witnessing Former Rikishi in Action: Watch thrilling live demonstrations by former top division rikishi, including the record-holding Satonofuji, known for his engaging style and powerful performances.
3. Authentic Chanko-Nabe Feast: After the training session, join the former rikishi for a delicious chanko-nabe lunch, a traditional meal that sumo wrestlers typically enjoy. Indulge in the large communal dishes that reflect the essence of Japanese culinary culture.
4. Photo Opportunities: Capture enduring memories with the former rikishi in front of Asahifuji's grand championship banner, a perfect keepsake to commemorate this remarkable experience.
