Life Net Insurance Draws 1,749 Visitors at Tokyo Pride 2026 Parade and Festival
Life Net Insurance Co., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, proudly participated in the "Tokyo Pride 2026 Pride Parade & Festival" held on June 6-7 at Yoyogi Park. Over two days, the company welcomed a remarkable total of 1,749 visitors to its booth, showcasing its dedication to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
Despite encountering some inclement weather during the event, the enthusiasm of attendees persisted, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stopped by our booth.
The Rainbow Photo Project: A Celebration of Smiles
Since 2016, Life Net has actively engaged in the "Rainbow Photo Project". For every photo taken with our booth, we contribute 100 yen toward funding initiatives aimed at promoting understanding of LGBTQ+ issues. This year, many participants not only smiled for the camera but also stood in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, creating a colorful array of joyful photos against backdrops featuring the rainbow flag.
Our booth was a vibrant space filled with positivity, emphasizing the collective power of support and recognition.
Utilizing Fundraised Resources for LGBTQ+ Understanding
The overwhelming participation of 1,749 individuals allowed us to raise a total of 174,900 yen. These funds will be allocated to various initiatives that foster understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and promote diversity. Life Net is committed to creating a society where everyone can live authentically and proudly, continuing our journey alongside our supporters.
Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion by Life Net
At Life Net, we follow a set of guiding principles known as the "Life Net Manifesto". This manifesto clearly states our respect for diversity and our cooperative spirit, allowing us to respond to change continuously. Our corporate culture, which emphasizes teamwork and diversity, is deeply ingrained within our operations.
We have publicly emphasized our commitment to diversity in our hiring manifesto, where we welcome applicants regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, or educational background. Additionally, our HR policies allow for the utilization of nursing leave for partners, regardless of gender.
This commitment is reflected in our insurance offerings as well. In November 2015, we expanded our policies to include same-sex partners as beneficiaries for life insurance payouts in response to customer requests. This progressive step, initiated a decade ago, has seen a continual increase in customers designating same-sex partners as beneficiaries or intended claimants.
Life Net seeks to respect the diverse ways of life of individuals while striving to create a society where everyone can live confidently and authentically.
Life Net’s Achievements in Supporting LGBTQ+ Rights
Recognized for its unwavering support of LGBTQ+ rights, Life Net has received the highest ratings for its initiatives. For ten consecutive years, the company has earned the gold level in the "PRIDE Index" by work with Pride, an evaluation body that assesses LGBTQ+-related efforts by businesses and organizations.
Further Initiatives and Contributions
To reinforce our commitment to education and advocacy for LGBTQ+ issues, Life Net has donated LGBTQ-related books to all public elementary, middle, and high schools in Wakkanai City, Toyotomi Town, and Horonobe Town in Hokkaido. We have also made donations to all public junior high schools in Beppu City, Oita, and to nineteen other locations in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki.
Life Net remains focused on its mission, encouraging every individual to live authentically while supporting the growth of future generations through clear and affordable services. As a leading company in online life insurance, we harness digital technology to strive toward a society where security and support flourish.
